Updated pictures.....

Here are a few pictures I feel like I have been mentioning forever.  We hope you enjoy these candid shots of Kennedy at home.

Kennedy's Christening gown (@ 3 months old).  She was not pleased because we put the bonnet on her.

This next picture was after we took off the christening gown and changed her into a casual outfit.  Notice the smile because she wasn't wearing a hat!

Kennedy is in her jumparoo that Auntie Ann (Irish Ann) bought for her before she was born.  She is chewing on her tongue as she is starting the teething process.  She is 4 months old in the picture above and below this caption.

Jason is feeding Kennedy and trying to take her picture at the same time.  How talented is Daddy!

We are planning on taking her Easter pictures this weekend, so stay tuned!
With Love,

We are back again.....

Alright, so this time I am serious when I say I am going to blog us at least once every 2 weeks. So much has happened in Kennedy's short life. We had an issue with Kennedy and her soy formula. She had a spit up issue and we took her to the pediatrician. We then switched her formula to Enfamil AR. After we switched the formula, she seemed to be doing much better. She is drinking 6 ounces at a time now. We took Kennedy for her 4 month shots (4 months was on March 6th) and we found out that her weight was still in the 90th percentile for her age and she is 24 inches long. We are still fighting the teething process, but no teeth have actually broken through yet. She is actually on a schedule, which is NICE. We have to be home by 7:00 p.m. or there is hell to pay in the Gardner household. We have a bath (every other night) at 7ish and then we head to her room, where we watch the cow jump over the moon (on her projector on the ceiling) and we listen to Delilah (radio host) on 99.9 on the radio. For some reason that is what Kennedy enjoys falling asleep to. I guess whatever works, right? She then sleeps through until 5:45 - 6:30ish, depending on when she feels like getting up. She is sleeping in her crib, some nights all night, but other nights, she is a sleeping partner with her mama! After going for her 4 month shots, the doctor told us we could introduce cereal to Kennedy, so she will become familiar with her spoon. We tried that for about a week, and the cereal was a no go. So we tried Gerber baby foods #1, which the doctor stated we could introduce soon, and she eats it like it is going out of style. We can't spoon it in her mouth fast enough. She only eats about 1.25 ounces at lunchwith a 4 ounce bottle and then another 1.25 ounces for dinner with a 4 ounce bottle. She is definitely trying to get into our eating schedule.

We love that Kennedy is such a jet-setter around town. She is no stranger to the shopping scene, the church scene and going out to eat (for any meal) scene. However, let me remind you that we are to be home at 7 NO matter what we are doing. We do have her passport application filled out and we are just waiting until I have a day off to go drop it off to be processed. Jason just painted Kennedy's bathroom (BRIGHT blue, like a teal blue) so it matches her fish shower curtain. We will be sure to take pictures and post them once the bathroom is all put together. We do have some pictures of Kennedy in her christening gown that we are trying to put together for posting, and then we are going to take her easter pictures, once I pick out her Easter dress. So keep looking for those online.

We hope all is going well with all of you. Hope you and your family have a fabulous Easter.

We're back.........

To answer those crazy rumors/questions, NO Jason, Kennedy and I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. So much has happened to us since the middle of January. Life has been so crazy I will spare you the boring, details. However, a million things have happened with Kennedy. So much, in fact, I will probably miss out a few things in our blog.

Kennedy is definitely growing like a weed.  We had been feeding her Soy formula, as Dr. Frank said it wouldn't hurt her since there were so many allergies in our family. But after a little while with the Soy formula, Kennedy was spitting up more than she was keeping in her belly. So we took her back to the doctor to just be checked and we realized that she hadn't gained very much weight in recent weeks. So we switched formula's again, this time to Enfamil AR (added rice). She really seems to enjoy it, but boy does it stink. She has taken a stretch and we can't wait to measure her. Notice I said, can't wait. Right now it seems impossible as she is such a wiggle worm. She has laughed a few times, but only when she is sleeping. She is really smiling at everything now, showing nothing but her gums. Well, nothing just yet. She is definitely beginning to cut teeth. The drool is everywhere, her cheeks are rosy pink, and believe you me, the only time she seems to have relief is when you are rubbing those gums that feel razor sharp. So we are trying to keep her peaceful and not in much pain. We finally got around to taking some pictures of her in her christening gown and her "Pimp Mama" outfit. I will post those within the next week. If you put a hat on her, she gets this pissed off look on her face. However, the minute the hat comes off, she is so happy and ready to cheese it up to the camera.

I will be keeping you all posted with her progress, now that I am in somewhat of a system.  Take care and speak to you soon.

How sweet it was....

Yesterday, I posted a blog regarding our best friends sweet baby girl. Today, we went to her memorial service and the graveside ceremony. It was so beautiful. The pastor said so many sweet things and allowed Aaron and Andrea to show a fabulous slideshow of the 48 hours that Aubrey was with us. Allow me to say, there was not a dry eye in the church. Along with the slideshow was a sweet song called "Aubrey". At the end of the service, Aaron and Andrea stood up to say a few words. I think I heard it all, in between my sobs. How Aaron held it together as well as he did to say the most beautiful things about his baby girl, his adoring/loving wife and how proud he was to be a dad and a loving husband. It was truly an emotional moment and day.

As Jason and I attended Aubrey's memorial service, Kennedy was at Nana Jurey's house. She was very fortunate to see her lovely great Aunt's in Scotland. She visited with Auntie Mary, Auntie RoseAnn and Uncle Thomas (Baby God-daddy). So they enjoyed seeing her for the first time in person, via the internet. According to Auntie Audrey, she really enjoyed her time via the internet. Thanks guys for allowing her on your skype time!

Wishing you all a safe and short work week.

Goodbye Aubrey! We love you!

Jason, Kennedy and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Baby Aubrey, our best friends (Aaron and Andrea's) baby girl. Her life here was so short, but it was extremely clear, that God had much more important plans for her. In just 48 hours, Aubrey taught us all so many things. She taught us the meaning of strength, determination, love, courage, family, to believe in great things and most of all, she taught us that miracles and babies are truly a gift from God. Our thoughts and prayers are with Aaron and Andrea, The Rozier's, The Seeman's and all of the many, many people that are tied (in any way, friends, extended family, etc) to such a wonderful family.

We will be spending MLK day (Monday, January 19th) remembering such a sweet baby girl. To some, we will be just another face in the crowd. However, to Aaron and Andrea, we will be there for support, for comfort, and for anything else they ever need; No matter if it is something they are to need immediately, or 10 years from now. We love you guys and are deeply saddened by your loss.

With Love,
Jason, Jen and Kennedy!

Isn't she Lovely, Isn't she wonderful..........

Hey Mama, why are you looking at me through a lens?

Since the new year has come and gone, Kennedy is growing so fast. She is finally getting over her first cold. However, at a whopping 12 pounds and only 9 1/2 weeks, she seems to be outgrowing so much so soon! It feels as if the pants that we have just bought, she is already outgrowing, or her onezie won't snap anymore. Boy, if only she knew when she was older, she would probably go through the "CLOTHES don't fit anymore" battle again!

Jason and I have taken several pictures of her doing fabulous things. She is looking more and more like Jason everyday (or so we have been told). She is so strong and holding up her head on her own. She likes to be in her bouncy staring at her Rainforest friends. She loves to speak to the ladybugs on her mobile over her bed. She has been all over the town and doesn't seem to mind. She has gone to church a few times and hasn't even fussed or caused a scene. She even went to her first baby shower, where she wasn't the guest of honor. She bought her favorite items for her best friend Aubrey Seeman, who was born 1/12/09. We hope you enjoy the photos and can't wait to post more soon.
Laughing at her Rainforest friends!
With Love,
Jason, Jen and Kennedy
Dad, don't take my picture, I am naked!

PS. I can't believe it has been almost 10 weeks. Boy time does fly by!

Happy Birthday Aubrey!

We are a day late, but our best friends, Aaron and Andrea Seeman welcomed a beautiful baby girl into their fabulous lives on January 12, 2009. Aubrey was born at 4:02 p.m. and weighed 3lbs 4 ounces. She is doing extremely well and is truly a MIRACLE baby. She has overcome so much in her short life that you can't help but know God truly does exist and miracles do happen.

From day one, Jason and I have been truly amazed at the strength, determination and LOVE that Aaron and Andrea have. The two of them are amazing people and we know they are going to be even more amazing parents. We went to visit the "Seeman Family" (Party of 3 now) tonight in the hospital. Aubrey is in the NICU, so we won't get to see her (except through photos) until she comes home. We can't wait! She truly is a blessing. When you are a new parent yourself, you only experience your excitement, but tonight, when we walked into the room, you could just feel the love and excitement beaming from everyone, especially Aaron and Andrea. There is so much to be thankful for! We love you guys!

Let's keep the Seeman family in our thoughts and prayers and pray for Aubrey to come home real soon!

With Love,
Jason, Jen and Kennedy!
